There is one huge difference between our service and that of a so called 'free' solar panel scheme. With these free schemes you receive the electricity savings but you don't receive the government's feed-in-tariff.
What this basically means is that the free solar companies will be making money simply by the panels being sat on your roof and generating electricity.
There is a a big myth that by adding free solar panels, you will end electricity bills. Unfortunately this isn't the case. This is due to two major reasons; (1) solar panels don't work at night and therefore you will be using 'paid for' electricity in the evening. (2) the majority of people are out of the house in the daytime whilst the panels are generating electricity (and generating an income for the free solar company!).
Another thing to consider is that you may be tied into a long lease (where your roof is rented out for up to 25 years). That's a long time for things to change! Plus if you wish to sell your property, the buyer has no alternative but to take on the lease. Which leads to a very important question; would you buy a house with a long roof lease and no ability to add profit generating panels?
